“What a Pastor Doesn't Want to Hear" Jeremiah 10:21

Yahveh told Jeremiah the prophet to tell Judah that her pastors had become senseless: “Judah, your pastors are stupid!” Though God spoke these words through Jeremiah late in the 7th century BC, they are all too applicable to the 21st postmodern era we live in today.

A stupid pastor is one who does not desire to seek the LORD, nor draw others through his teaching of the Word into communion with Christ Jesus. According to Jeremiah, these pastors are stupid for they: “.. have not sought the LORD.” Instead, they seek popularity among people or to be "important". They seek the applause and praises of men, so they do not seek the face of the LORD. They seek to please men instead of telling men the truth of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and drawing people to the grace of God that will change their lives.

Lord Jesus, give me a heart to seek your face and draw others into communion with You through the Word of God and the power of Your Holy Spirit. “When You said, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto Thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek” (Psalm 27:8).
